Metal & Silversmithing Workshop: Make Your Own Textured  Rings

Location: Grounded Village Studio
Suitable for: Ages 8–17 & Adults (Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult unless pre-approved)

Join professional silversmith Jemica in a hands-on, creative workshop where you’ll learn to design and fabricate textured rings using recycled copper piping and other metals. This session introduces you to the fundamentals of metalsmithing, including ring sizing, soldering, hammer texturing, polishing, patina colouring, and more.

You'll create 3–4 handmade rings, with the option to make additional rings for just $10 each.

Whether you're a beginner or looking to expand your skills, this workshop is a fantastic way to explore the world of jewellery making in a supportive, guided environment.

What You’ll Learn

• Basic metalsmithing & ring-making techniques

• Using hammers, texturing tools & polishing equipment

• Working with soldering flame and ring sizing

• Applying patinas for colour effects

• Techniques used in silversmithing

What to Bring/Wear

• Enclosed shoes (mandatory)

• No loose clothing

• Hair tied back

• Reading or focal glasses (for close-up work)

Conditions

• Minimum of 6 and maximum of 9 participants per session

• Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult unless pre-approved

• If the session does not proceed (e.g. low numbers), a full refund or reschedule will be offered
