Metalsmithing 101 – Pendant & Stud Earrings Soldering Workshop

This immersive 4-hour metalsmithing experience is the perfect introduction to jewellery making and basic soldering techniques.

Participants will learn foundational metalsmithing skills while creating one pair of stud earrings and one necklace pendant to take home. Guided step-by-step, you’ll explore:

• Sawing and shaping metal

• Basic soldering techniques

• Attaching stud posts and pendant bails

• Surface texturing and finishing processes

Choose from a selection of metals and design options to create pieces that reflect your personal style. This hands-on workshop is ideal for beginners looking to build confidence, skills, and creative freedom in a supportive studio environment.

 Children’s / Adults  Intro to Metal Smithing/ silversmithing  futures program is an Open Making Workshop for all  to learn this incredible skill to open up a world of possibility for future career/ hobby/ maker options or simply have a bit of fun learning a new skill. Parents are most welcome to join in themselves for our homeschoolers with a paying ticket or stay to help their children free of charge- UNDER 10's will need a parent to stay unless approved prior - if unsure please contact us here 

Under the guide of  professional Silversmith Jemica Ostrofski, learn how to design and fabricate texture, create, jewellery using recycled metals and pure silver.

 WHAT YOU’LL GET

• Sheets necessary for the class  of recycled Aluminium, brass, copper or sterling silver
• Findings to turn your  creations into jewellery / wearable art
• Use of an Apron during the workshop

CONDITIONS
This workshop is designed for children aged 8 years to 17 years, adults and teens.

 children under 10 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult

There is a minimum  of 3 and maximum for 6 participants for this workshop to go ahead- if the workshop does not go ahead you will be refunded or a rescedule may be offered.

This is part of our GROUNDED VILLAGE FUTURES PROGRAM 

A wonderful eye opening experience for children/ adults  to explore a worlds of creative futures and what a career in metal smithing/ silversmithing may look like plus embrace creativity and design.

There will be tea/ coffee/ water/ juice and refreshments on offer, you are most welcome to bring your own lunch or order from the cafe upstairs for delivery to the studio.

This is a program exclusive to grounded village studio to help you 'CREATE YOUR OWN WAY' and experience community, connection and explore  another incredible skill set and fun experience at grounded!
