Children’s Intro to Metal Smithing is an Open Making Workshop for children
Under the guide of Silversmith Jemica Ostrofski, learn how to design and fabricate textured jewellery using recycled metals.
The basic metal smithing techniques of mark making will be explored using various
hammers, letter stamps, number stamps and other tools.
The workshop will run for 3 hours and students can make 2 pieces. Depending on the type of jewellery chosen, they have the option of making a necklace, earrings, key ring, adjustable ring, and lot more.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
• Sheet of recycled Aluminium
• Findings to turn your 2 creations into jewellery / wearable art
• Use of an Apron during the workshop
gift box to store your creation and an amazing experience with an amazing professional.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR
• All necessary tools and materials will be provided on the day
• Enclosed shoes
• No loose items of clothing (as they may get caught in equipment)
• Hair tied back
CONDITIONS
This workshop is designed for children aged 8 years to 17 years, children under 10 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult ( unless prior arrangement has been made with studio host at groundedvillagestuido@gamil.com)
There is a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 participants for this workshop to go ahead.
